Launched at Watches & Wonder 2025, this new take on the Datejust 31mm is visually striking while maintaining the quiet elegance of this timeless design. Beautifully crafted in 18ct yellow gold, featuring 10 diamond hour-markers and fitted with the prestigious President bracelet, this model is the brand’s first-ever timepiece with a red ombre dial.

While the concept of ombre dials – defined as the gradual blending of one colour into another – is not entirely new (Rolex reintroduced this design element in 2019), the technique has usually been used with more subdued hues, such as grey, blue or green – and usually within the Day-Date model. With this particular dial, which Rolex describes in poetic fashion as “the last rays of the sun piercing the horizon at nightfall” the depth and intensity of the dial elevates this Datejust to a functioning timepiece (powered by the calibre 2236) while blending jewelry and art.
